Dadabhai Nauroji was a mathematician and social reformer in his native India (through the Indian National Congress) as also in the UK (elected as a Liberal MP). His inspiration came from his Zoroastrian faith, with an emphasis on justice for all against the persistent power of vested interests and superstition. In his ‘drain theory’ he identified the unfairness arising from Imperial relationships.
