Historical Who is Who
1897 - 2000
Leading Christian ‘process theologian’, reworking traditional religious beliefs along the lines of AN Whitehead’s philosophy. This has particular consequences for his understanding of evil and suffering, as also of God – better understood as within all that is in the universe but not confined to it (‘panentheist’). As such God is neither reducible to the universe (‘pantheist’) nor entirely separate from it – world inclusive AND transcending.
