Historical Who is Who

GRAHAME, Kenneth

1859 - 1932

Best known as the author of children’s stories with a series of engaging river bank characters – Wind in the Willows. They celebrate the pleasure of simple experiences, of the natural world and of friendship. Their gentle humour may in part have been an escape from the challenges of internal family life. Its cultivation can be a distraction from moral sense, but need not be especially if it provides an ingredient for real happiness.
