Historical Who is Who

CICERO

106 - 43 BCE
Italy
LITERATURE, POLITICS

Famed for his oratorical and writing skills, Cicero’s works are major sources of previous Greek and Roman philosophy, distilled and clearly articulated. His use of moral argument established his public standing, but in later years he lost the moral highground and becoming open to technical legal challenge was killed by political enemies.
