Multiple identities

The composite nature of human personality and identity is often remarked in respect of such ingredients as genetic inheritance, family context, gender, race and ethnicity, nationality and religion. This mixed condition may exist largely implicit and unremarked. But the existence of mixed nationality, race and religion may now be both more commonplace and noticeable than once was the case. Similarly the internal plurality of personal beliefs and values deserves to be given greater recognition.
