Defining Issues Test (DIT)

this is a well-established instrument designed to measure an individual's level in making moral judgements. It was developed initially by James Rest and refined subsequently by the 'Minnesota school'. After the fashion of Kohlberg, it is organised around responses to stories and dilemmas. Similarly, the levels move progressively from that of predominant self-referencing and interest, through that of social expectation and requirement, to more principled independent evaluation and judgement.
