Dictionary and Thesaurus for Ethics and Moral Education

This work room of the Moral Capital website provides brief introductions to many of the terms which are relevant for judgements of right and wrong. They have a part in the territory of Moral Education. Some are more technical than others, but they are all part of the wealth of thinking that wants to make moral sense and to act accordingly. Some are directly linked with culture, politics or religion, some expressly avoiding any suggestion of such links. Cultural anthropologists may be wary of generalisation. Whilst moral philosophers affirm the autonomy of ethics, philosophers of religion affirm  autonomy on those grounds. In consequence, in so far as they operate in overlapping territory, they raise questions from the one for the other. Moreover, the plurality of beliefs globally is a reminder that there are other traditions of philosophy besides any dominant Western version.

The intention is that the entries to this Dictionary and Thesaurus should continue to grow, both in the number of terms listed and in what is said about them. As an initial means of enabling this to happen, at the bottom of this workroom there is a form for such amendments additions to be written and submitted for editorial consideration.
